Tony Hennigan the award winning press officer for the festival said "It promises to be a bit like the 'Blur v Oasis' battle, but its just a bit of fun and we only want people to cheer on all the musicians on the night. Both of these award winning cities are full of the world's best Irish musicians and the event promises to be a great night of musical entertainment and Craic."
If you fancy joining the Leeds or Manchester teams in there battle to find out which city has the best traditional Irish musicians then just email email@example.com your details or just turn up on the night.
The musicians will be broadcast live on ALLFM's award winning Full Irish Radio show on 96.9fm and online from 7pm to 9pm with Martin & Annette Logan. Then after the show at 9pm the presenters and the musicians take the session to the Union Inn in Levenshulme on Stockport Road in South Manchester. Don't forget your instruments, there is a free drop of the blackstuff for all performers whether award winning or not.
One of the livelier venues on the Levenshulme bar scene, the m19 bar and venue regularly hosts live music and other events on the first floor.
